→ About

We are interested in hands-on investigation, discovery, and attention to context, a process-driven approach to create thoughtful projects. A connection to the environment and materials push things forward, while a minimalist ethos guides us: working directly in the field with what we have, and what we know in the moment.

In our studio we get inspiration from making. By making, we strive to understand a bit more, and get to the deeper relationships that lie just below the surface. We have an extensive background in modeling, welding, and woodworking enabling our office to do custom fabrication within our work. We search for opportunities to make an overlooked moment, material, or space something special. Projects are inherintly personal, and we strive to understand the deeper context that gives each project it’s unique character. We try to balance the complexities of personal needs, structure, code, and sytems with the more experiential qualities of light, shade, air, touch and feeling. With each project we learn more and new ideas filter in, fragments come together and an idea emerges after the complexities balance out.

The studio is led by Trevor Watson. Trevor grew up in the deserts of Arizona, and graduated from the UofA CAPLA in Tucson.

Trevor has had the pleasure of teaching at Columbia Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation in NYC. He has worked in New York City, Brooklyn, Stockholm and San Francisco, and is currently teahing at the UofA.
