DETAIL: CRAFT IN PRACTICE 2018

“DETAIL: Craft In Practice” was developed and taught with Paul Sanderson during the Spring 2018 semester at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. This course asked students to design and develop a detail from their studio projects and have a portion of the detail fabricated by a local craftsperson. Students developed a series of drawings and were in direct contact with their fabricators. The back and forth negotiation between budget, complexity and schedule drove design development forward.
